Runways
Runway 18/36 is sealed and is 1,640 metres in length with pilot activated lights
(PAL) for night landing and non directional beacon facilities. Frequency for PAL
is 119.20 or manual.
Runway 09/27 is grass and is 530 metres in length. This runway may be closed
due to wet conditions (check NOTAMS for closures).

Taxiways
Two 15 metre wide taxiways provide access from the Regular Public Transport
(RPT) and General Aviation (GA) Aprons.

Regular Public Transport (RPT) Apron
The RPT apron servicing the terminal building comprises of a flexible pavement
with a sprayed seal surface. The apron is approximately 150 metres long and varies between 30 and 45 metres wide.
There are no marked parking positions on the apron and aircraft normally park parallel with the building line.

General Aviation Apron
The main General Aviation Apron is situated directly north of the RPT Apron and has a sealed surface in front of two hangers and the Wangaratta Aero Club. It has a grassed surface towards the 18/36 runway where light aircraft park.

Terminal Facility
The terminal facility includes public toilets, showers (9.00am to 5.00pm Monday
to Friday). No public phone exists at the terminal. External public toilets are
available 24hrs 7 days a week. The terminal also has a privately operated
kiosk.

Kiosk
The kiosk operates between 9.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday. For further

Emergency Operations
The Wangaratta Aerodrome is also utilised by Emergency Services personnel.
Rural Ambulance Victoria utilises the aerodrome on a regular basis to transport
patients in the air ambulance.
The Wangaratta Aerodrome has also played a major role for the fire services of
DSE and the CFA in the 2003 Campaign Fires and 2006/7 Alpine Fires.

Fuel
BP Aviation fuel is available for purchase on site by using a BP carnet card or
calling ahead to the Wangaratta Aero Club on (03) 5721 3845 and arranging for
a member to refuel you plane.
Fuel can be purchased at the aerodrome after hours by contacting Jeff Peel on
0427 591 667.

Camping Facilities
The National Sports Aviation Centre is situated behind the Wangaratta
Aerodrome and has toilet and shower amenities. Powered and non-powered

Commercial Airline
The nearest commercial airline service is Albury, NSW (approximately 50
minutes north). However, there is a charter company who runs through the
Wangaratta Aero Club (see details below).
